Automated security reports
Petra can generate and send security reports on a schedule—for example, weekly or monthly—so you and your customers get a regular summary of incidents, trends, and posture without having to log in every time. This article explains how automated security reports work and how you can use them.
What automated security reports are
Automated security reports are reports that Petra generates on a schedule (e.g., every week or every month) and delivers to you—typically by email. The report usually covers a specific time period and can include things like: how many incidents were detected, how many were remediated, high-level trends (e.g., phishing vs. compromised accounts), and sometimes a summary of failed attacks or other events. The goal is to give you a regular snapshot of security for your tenant(s) or organization so you can stay informed and share updates with management or customers without manually building a report each time.
How they're delivered
When automated reports are set up, you configure who receives them and how often. Delivery is often by email: recipients get a message with the report attached or with a link to download it. Some setups may allow a PDF per tenant or a combined report for the whole organization. The exact options depend on your organization's configuration. Reports are generated in the background; you don't need to be logged in when they run. You can usually see in the reporting hub when the last report was sent or generated, and you may be able to download past reports from there as well.
Why use them
Automated reports save time and keep stakeholders in the loop. Instead of ad-hoc screenshots or manual summaries, you have a consistent, professional report that goes out on schedule. That's useful for MSPs reporting to customers, for internal security or management reviews, and for compliance or audit trails. If you're not sure whether automated reports are enabled for your org or how to change the schedule or recipients, check your organization or notification settings, or ask your Petra administrator.
